Company representatives
A foreigner who will represent a company, a sole trader or a Slovenian branch of a foreign company (e.g. as a director or manager) may obtain a single permit with consent for a representative (Article 27 of ZZSDT). The conditions are, in particular:
- the company operates actively (for at least six months it has had at least one person in full-time employment, or it has recorded receipts from business activities of at least EUR 10,000 in each of the last six months) or, if it has been registered for less than six months, it has invested at least EUR 50,000 in the activity;
- the company has filed withholding tax returns and has no outstanding tax liabilities;
- the representative is entered in the relevant register (e.g. the court register);
- an employment contract or a civil law contract has been submitted;
- the quota has not been reached.
A company with up to ten employees may obtain one consent for a representative, and a company with 11 to 50 employees two.
