Study
Study
A temporary residence permit for study purposes is issued to a foreigner who has been admitted to an officially recognised education or study programme in Slovenia, or who is participating in an international study exchange scheme or a training programme with an authorised organisation (Article 44 of ZTuj-2). The means of subsistence may also be provided by the educational organisation or by the parents (with a written statement). The permit is issued for the duration of the studies, but as a rule for no more than one year, and is extended. Alongside their studies, students may work under the conditions applicable to student work. Applications are processed as a matter of priority.
A foreigner who has completed higher vocational or higher education studies in Slovenia within the last two years may obtain a permit for the purpose of seeking employment or self-employment, valid for nine months (Article 44b of ZTuj-2).
